The scope of research and studies carried out by the Modified Antibiotics Department 1 covers:
- Development of methods for the chemical synthesis of medicinal preparations.
- Development of technology for obtaining generic preparations of various therapeutic action, as a result of chemical synthesis but also by biotechnological methods.
- Development of methods for the purification of medicinal preparations.
- Research and studies within the scope of searching for new antibacterial and antineoplastic compounds, in particular anthracycline antibiotics.
- Research and studies within the scope of chemical modification of already known antibiotics in terms of broadening their action spectrum and improvement of their pharmacological properties.
- Development of technology for the specific forms of a medication, in particular eye drops and injected preparations as well as medications obtained by biotechnological methods.
- SAR studies, including searching for new chemical therapeutic compounds.
- Collection of publication and patent data within the scope of conducted research and studies.
